Who are we ?
The National Foundation for Peace, Development, and Human Rights is registered in Cairo under No. 9551 and is subject to the Law on Civil Associations and Foundations (Law No. 84 of 2022). The Foundation was established by a group of individuals active and interested in the fields of development and human rights.
The organization has excelled in numerous institutional capacity-building programs led by major international partners. It received a grant for institutional capacity development from the American University of Beirut, funded by the Ford Foundation. Through this grant, the organization updated its internal financial and administrative policies, human resources systems, strategic planning frameworks, and other systems and manuals. These improvements marked a qualitative leap for the organization, aligning it with ten international standards; it achieved an international assessment score of 88.27% and a "Gold Certificate" for standard implementation (scoring 79.77%), as well as a one-year membership with the American University of Beirut. The organization operates two locations: a headquarters in Matariya, Cairo, and a branch in Toukh Center, Qalyubia.
The National Foundation for Peace, Development, and Human Rights is an Egyptian civil society organization holding consultative status with the United Nations. It integrates a human rights-based approach into its programs and activities, focusing broadly on societal issues—particularly those affecting the most marginalized groups, such as women, children, and youth. The Foundation addresses pressing social challenges by supporting democracy and human rights, fostering social peace, eliminating all forms of violence against women and gender-based violence, and promoting gender equality. Its work also encompasses reproductive health, economic development for families and youth, quality education, refugee rights support, and humanitarian emergency responses that meet the basic needs of community groups. The Foundation adopts a strategic approach to strengthen its presence and engagement within the community.
